Czech FinMin issues bonds in Swiss francs first time in history

"This is another strategic step taken by the ministry towards diversification of the investor base and increasing the number of potential channels for financing," spokesman Ondrej Jakob said.

According to the ministry, the issue of a 2.875 percent coupon bond with a 7-year maturity is intended for Swiss institutional investors. The Royal Bank of Scotland is the lead manager of the transaction.

At end-September, the ministry issued bonds for domestic investors in euros for the first time ever, with the volume of issues totalling EUR300m (about Kc7.8bn).
