Prague - Debts of Czech households to banks and financial institutions grew in December by Kc9.35bn to Kc1,118bn and they increased by Kc60.6bn compared with December 2010, according to data the Czech National Bank (CNB) published today.
Debts of companies rose by Kc46.6bn on the year to Kc951.8bn and month-on-month they fell by Kc10.67bn.
One-day household deposits at banks and financial institutions posted a month-on-month rise of Kc9.9bn to Kc1,057bn. Year-on-year increase reached Kc72.6bn.
Households' deposits redeemable at notice, among them time deposits, for instance, in December decreased by more than Kc16bn to Kc340.4bn on the year, while in a month-on-month comparison they were Kc9.28bn higher.
The growth of the M2 money supply slowed in December to 4.9 percent from November´s 5.1 percent.
The central bank makes public the statistics as part of its monthly monetary survey, based on balances from monetary financial institutions which include the central bank, commercial banks, money-market funds and credit unions.
